PACA & the USDAThis post is also available in: Spanish, Portuguese
Does PACA mean anything else other than this special law for interstate and international produce trade?
The word “PACA” not only refers to the law, but it also refers to a branch of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) in which the PACA law is administered and in which some of the protections of PACA can be enforced. The PACA branch of the USDA issues PACA licenses, investigates complaints against PACA licensees and takes disciplinary action for violations of PACA and operates one of the two forums where disputes that arise under PACA can be decided.
